I love The Joker.

I drew this photo for a college art class, we asked to recreate a photo from our favorite artist from our genre. I picked comic illustator and one of my heroes, Alex Ross. His illustrations are so real, you'd think you were looking at a real person.

One of my favorite comics, The Killing Joke, both terrified and intrigued me. Love love love this comic. It is a must-have for any fan of the Batman universe.

This link is already in my "Required Reading" section but I will relist it here. Check out The Joker Blogs starring (my fantasy husband) Scott Mclure on youtube @ thejokerblogs or on the website @ http://www.thejokerblogs.com. The actors in this web series are phenomenal, the writing is on-point, and Scott Mclure is so sexy, I cant stand it LOL.

Joker was here. Mwah.

I do have a hero. And his name is Scott Mclure.

It's something about Scott. As soon as I saw him onscreen, on thejokerblogs ( http://www.thejokerblogs.com ), I knew he was doing what I wanted to do. Act! And it doesnt hurt that he's beautiful. And he's totally my type. Innocent face but you can tell behind those eyes, there's something bound to surprise you.

And now time for bed. Enough obsessing for today.

Xoxo,
The future Mrs. Scott Mclure, esq.

Happy Birthday To Ya!

Yesterday marked the 24th anniversary of my life. Had a very nice birthday as well.

Lunch with my younger brother and my mother. Then CAAAAAAAKE! Then dinner appetizers with my father. It makes me sad sometimes that I forget what he looks like. :-(

But then today, I get to see my friend/ex-boyfiend Christopher. I dont know what he is planning but hopefully it involves 'Hush Vol. 1".

Off to work now.
Toodles!!

A Blessing Unimaginable

It was sort of funny at first. When I would hear from former classmates that they were getting married. And later on, I would see a precious baby bump.

And then another friend would announce that the stork was visiting them as well.

And then another.

And then a few more after that...

Until I noticed on almost every facebook status, there was a wedding photo or a photo of the new bundle of joy.

I mean, its even gotten so creepy, so close to home that I completely stopped having sex. I said to myself,"I dare a spermazoa to look at me half-way wrong."

And that got boring. Embarrassingly quickly boring. I mean, I am only human. I have basic needs. Food. Shelter. Water. And unfortunately sex.

But I still have my eye on a pretty purity ring. I would feel so great if I could AT LEAST make it to my 25th birthday without a 'bun in the oven'...or on my dinner plate. The thought actually makes me nauseous.

Not 'morning sickness' type nauseous...just gives me the heebiejeebies.

Ugh. With that said, children are definitely a blessing. Just not one that I am going to add to my prayer queue anytime soon.

Still trying to grow up myself...

Proof that I don't deserve a pet.

I don't know why, but when you add Daisy plus banana peel, hilarity ensues...

Don't get me started...

So I was talking to one of my suitors (yes that's right I said suitor), and asked how his day was and he responded by saying "Work was gay.", to which I did not react very well.

Being a member of the LGBT community myself (I'm bisexual), I don't take too kindly to society's new habit of using the term "gay" as a euphemism for anything bad, unhappy, or generally disliked. Whenever its used, I cannot help but get incredibly defensive when this beautiful and proud term is used in a completely derogatory manner.

Needless to say, I let him have it. I will not be talking to him for a couple of days.

In other news, I downloaded a Blogger app from the Android Market for my Samsung Galaxy S 4G. I hope to make a blog post about all of my gadgets soon as well.

Over and out,
Elle

Inevitable introductory blog post

Good evening ladies and gentle-men, I am...tonight's entertainment!

Those were the words that echoed through my brain up until the very last frame of Christopher Nolan's masterpiece, The Dark Knight. Heath Ledger's portrayal of The Joker still sits on my list as the best performance in American cinema. Forget DeNiro's Travis Bickle, forget Pacino's turn as Roy Cohn in Angels in America, and more to the point forget their screen-time together in Heat and Righteous Kill.

When I heard those words, I knew I wanted to be an actor. I knew I wanted to tell stories. I had always wanted to be in the film industry but always focused on work behind the camera. But with this froghtening and sometimes morbidly intriguing look at The Joker, I knew I wanted to be the one in front, the one you couldnt take your eyes off of.

And so starts my journey into becoming America's sweetheart. Time to research, journey, and find my way into your televisions, into your theaters, and into the ballots of voters at all those ritzy award programs.

Day One:Done.
